Sam McGlynn is an Irish Canadian film director who is known for his recent film Deaner '89, which played theatrically across Canada on September 6th.
He brings with him over 20 years of work directing CG and Realtime films for cinematics, virtual production and movies.
McGlynn started his career in Ireland working in various on-set production capacities for Roger Corman. He soon realized that he loved film but preferred the post side. This led to a successful period editing in Vancouver, BC. He subsequently moved into the gaming sector at Electronic Arts, where he oversaw the creation of cinematics and trailers for popular titles including Star Wars, FIFA and Battlefield. He also collaborated with Director Neill Blomkamp to create a live action trailer that won a Clio for best visual effects and best gaming trailer at the Golden Trailer Awards.
In his current role at Method Studios and Company 03, he oversees a large team of artists working on projects such as Meta, Call of Duty and the Mandalorian. Leveraging his vast array of skills using Unreal Engine technology, he continues to innovate creative projects from previs right through to final.
